Timberland recognise the power of trees to improve the quality of our planet as well as individual well-being. They feed, shelter, and sustain us, so we must stand for them. That is why Timberland have made a bold commitment to plant 50 million trees around the world over the next 5 years.
To bring this commitment to life, they have teamed up with seven partners from all over the globe. They are helping Timberland to not only plant trees, but also clean our air, strengthen our communities, and create economic opportunities. Together we will Plant the Change™.
Timberland has launched its largest-ever global campaign, “Nature Needs Heroes” inviting everyone to join the movement by taking simple, small actions for a healthier planet. Harnessing their passion for nature and the energy of fashion, “Nature Needs Heroes” celebrates 12 eco-heroes who are making lasting, positive change for the environment and their communities.
By 2030 Timberland intend to be Net positive by pulling more carbon out of the air than they emit, improving biodiversity (think plants, animals and insects), water quality and farmer wellbeing.
With a great passion for Nature, comes great responsibility – to create responsible products and to protect Nature for generations to come. Together we can make a difference.
There’s too much carbon in the air.
Not enough in the ground.
By getting natural leather, wool and cotton from regenerative farming.
• allowing animals to graze freely
• stimulating grass growth
• protecting land from over ploughing
• smart planting to help soil
We help put carbon in the soil, where it actually does some good.
Because Mother Nature knows best, right?
Smartwool was founded out of a deep love for the outdoors. We’re happiest when we’re mountain biking through aspens, skiing fresh powder, and hiking ridgelines. We believe the places we play should be protected and shared. Smartwool started because we wanted to help people spend more time in the outdoors.
That’s why Smartwool set up an environmental advocacy program and partner with organizations that are fighting to protect our most treasured places and fostering a love of the outdoors in future generations.
Smartwool use natural fibres that are sustainably sourced. They are currently looking at new ways to design our products to make more sustainable wool clothes and socks without sacrificing fit, durability, and comfort. We are focused on reducing the impact of each product. From the DWR (durable water repellent) they source to the way they wash our wool, Smartwool’s goal is to incorporate a sustainability philosophy across all practices. They want to be a brand that minimizes their impact on the environment. And dont want to take anything for granted.
